Working Principle:
Horizontal Plough Blade Mixer for Rubber Auxiliaries achieves high efficiency mixing through the synergistic effect of plough blade and fly cutter. After the equipment is started, the shaft of the plough knife group drives a number of groups of plough knives to rotate at high speed (200-500rpm), so that the material along the radial direction of the cylinder for circumferential turbulence, and at the same time be thrown to the cylinder wall and along the axial diffusion, the formation of the ‘vortex - diffusion’ mixing effect. When the material flows through the flying knife group, it is sheared and crushed by the high-speed rotating flying knife, which further refines and disperses to ensure the uniform mixing of fibrous or high-viscosity materials. If there is a need to add liquid additives (such as vulcanising agent), the liquid spraying device sprays the liquid evenly onto the surface of the material through atomised nozzles to promote its rapid absorption and dispersion. The whole mixing process is carried out in titanium or 316L stainless steel cylinder to avoid metal contamination; equipped with PLC control system can accurately adjust the speed, mixing time and other parameters to achieve automatic operation.
Process Flow of Horizontal Plough Blade Mixer for Rubber Auxiliaries:
1.Start-up Preparation and Inspection
Before starting, you need to check the equipment status comprehensively, including the power supply system (whether the voltage, current, air pressure is normal or not), transmission parts (motor, speed reducer, couplings), sealing structure (whether the connection between the main shaft and the cylinder is well sealed or not), discharging valve (whether the pneumatic/manual valve is flexible or not), and liquid spraying device (if you need to add liquid). Confirm that there is no impurity inside the cylinder, no wear or loosening of the plough blade and fly cutter, and that all connecting bolts are tightened to prevent leakage or malfunction during operation.
2. Feeding operation
Add the rubber additive powder (e.g. CBS powder) into the cylinder through the top inlet, the feeding quantity should be controlled within the effective volume (e.g. 100-150kg for 300L equipment) to avoid over-mixing or overloading of the equipment. If you need to add liquid (such as lubricants, dispersants), through the liquid spray device evenly sprayed on the surface of the material, the amount of liquid sprayed according to the process requirements of precise control.
3. Mixing operation stage
Low-speed start: start the spindle motor, the ploughshares rotate at a low speed (e.g. 90r/min), so that the material is initially dispersed and turbulence along the cylinder wall in the radial circumference.
High-speed mixing: after 30 seconds of low-speed operation, switch to high-speed (e.g. 1400-3000r/min), the plough blade and fly cutter synergistic effect: the plough blade throws the material up and pushes it along the axial direction to form the composite motion of ‘circulation - shear - flipping’; the fly cutter rotates at a high speed (1500-3000r/min) to crush hard agglomerated particles in the material, and further enhance the quality of the material. The high speed rotation of the fly cutter (1500-3000r/min) breaks the hard agglomerated particles in the material, further improving the mixing uniformity.
Temperature control: If heating or cooling is required, the temperature of the material is controlled within the range of technological requirements (e.g. 60-80℃) by passing hot or cold medium through the cylinder jacket.
4. Discharging and cleaning
Discharging: after mixing, first run at low speed to make the material concentrate to the centre of the cylinder, then open the bottom discharging valve (pneumatic/manual), and discharge the material thoroughly through the plough blade pushing to reduce the residue.
Cleaning: After discharging the material, open the top and side cover of the cylinder, rinse the inner wall with water until there is no dust residue, and then blow it dry with air hose or dry it naturally. Special attention should be paid to the residues at the plough knife, fly cutter and sealing structure when cleaning to prevent cross contamination.
5. Key control points
Mixing time: adjust the high-speed mixing time according to the nature of the material (such as particle size, fluidity), usually 5-15 minutes, to ensure that the uniformity of dispersion ≥ 95%.
Speed matching: the speed of the plough blade (80-140r/min) and the speed of the fly cutter (1500-3000r/min) need to be controlled synergistically to avoid overheating of the material or wear of the fly cutter caused by too high a speed.
Seal Maintenance: Regularly check the wear and tear of the mechanical seal or magnetic seal, and replace the seal in time to prevent material leakage or external impurities from entering.
