I. Product introduction

Horizontal pressure spray dryer is a kind of drying equipment widely used in chemical, food, pharmaceutical and other industries.It atomizes liquid materials into fine droplets and uses hot air to quickly evaporate water, thereby transforming liquid materials into dry powders or particles.Because of its efficient, uniform drying effect and continuous production characteristics, this equipment has become one of the indispensable drying equipment in many industries.


II.Working principle and characteristics

Horizontal pressure spray dryer works as follows:

1.Air heating and filtration : After the air is heated through the filter and heater, it enters the hot air distributor of the device.

2. Hot air distribution : Hot air evenly enters the drying room through the hot air distributor.

3. Liquid atomization : The liquid is sent to the pressure spray gun through the feed pump and atomized into small droplets.

4. Drying process : The droplets after atomization contact with hot air, the water evaporates rapidly, and the liquid dries into powder.

5. Powder collection : The powder is deposited at the bottom of the dryer and collected by the scraper and the winch transport.

6. Tail gas treatment : fine powder enters the bag dust collector with the tail gas, and the tail gas is discharged by the fan.


III.Device features

The horizontal pressure spray dryer manufactured by Jiangsu Bohong Drying Company is mainly composed of feeding system, spray system, drying chamber, hot air system, exhaust air system and receiving system.

1. Feed system : The material enters the spray system through the feed pump.

2. Spray system : The liquid material is atomized into small droplets through the nozzle under high pressure.

3. Drying chamber : The hot air passes through the drying chamber and is fully in contact with the atomized droplets to rapidly evaporate water.

4. Exhaust system : The wet air after evaporation is discharged through the exhaust system.

5. Receiving system : Dried powder or particles are collected through the receiving system.

6. Fast drying speed : After the pressure spray, the surface area is greatly increased, in the high temperature air flow, the instant evaporation of 90~95% of the water, the drying time is only ten seconds to tens of seconds.

7. Small floor space : Using horizontal air inlet and feed mode, the equipment height is reduced, the structure is compact, and the floor space is reduced.

8. Good product quality : short drying time, centralized collection of product coarse and fine powder to meet various quality indicators.

9. Easy operation : high degree of automation, low failure rate, convenient internal cleaning of equipment, no dead corners, maintenance and no safety hazards of high-altitude work.


IV. Application field

Horizontal pressure spray dryer is widely used in the following fields:

1. Food industry : drying of milk powder, egg powder, fruit and vegetable powder, condiments, etc.

2. Chemical industry: drying of dyes, pigments, resins, ceramic powder, etc.

3.Pharmaceutical industry : Drying of Chinese medicine extract, pharmaceutical preparations, biological products, etc.

4.Other fields : drying of pesticides, feed, plastics, etc.


V. Structure description

Form of heater

Depending on the heat source selected by the user, the heater forms include:

1. Electric heater

2. Steam heat exchanger

3. Heat transfer oil heat exchanger

4. Direct/indirect combustion of natural gas

5. Direct/indirect burning of coal

6. Direct/indirect burning of oil

7. Flue gas

The commonly used heating methods are steam heat exchange, electric heating and natural gas direct heating.


Air filter

The system air inlet is equipped with an air filter in the form of:

1. Coarse air filter

2. Medium efficiency air filter

3. Sub-high efficiency air filter

4. High efficiency filter

5. High temperature high efficiency filter


Hot Air dispenser

The hot air rotates horizontally into the drying chamber and exchanges heat and mass with the droplets to promote gas-liquid contact and prevent the semi-wet material from sticking to the wall.


Form of feed pump

Feed pump forms include:

1. Screw pump

2. Gear pump

3. Homogenizing pump

4. Diaphragm pump (supporting pressure regulator)

5. High pressure hose pump

6. Pneumatic delivery


Pressure spray gun

Advantages of pressure spray gun:

1. Simple structure and low production cost

2. Simple maintenance, convenient installation and disassembly

3. Low atomizing power


Drying room

The drying chamber is composed of an outer shell, a skeleton, an inner barrel body and a thermal insulation layer with a thickness of 100 mm.The hot air inlet and outlet of the drying chamber is equipped with a temperature measuring device to observe the spray situation, and a cleaning door is designed to facilitate cleaning.


Gas-solid separator

According to product characteristics and environmental requirements, gas-solid separators include:

1. Cyclone separator

2. Diffusion separator

3. Bag dust collector

4. Wet dust collector

5. Settling chamber

6. Electrostatic precipitator

The commonly used separation device is the cloth bag dust collector.


Waste heat utilization device

The exhaust gas is recovered and reused through the waste heat device, and the fresh air entering the system is heated to 40-70℃ by two indirect heat exchanges, reducing energy consumption and reducing operating costs.


Centrifugal fan and regulating damper

The air volume of the fan can be adjusted through the air inlet door, the adjustment form can be manual or automatic, and the automatic adjustment is completed by adding an electric actuator.


Electrical cabinet control

Control forms include conventional control, PLC control (touch screen control), DCS control (computer control).The main control points are blowers, induced draft fans, electric heaters or burners, feed pumps, etc. The main adjustment parameters are inlet air temperature, outlet air temperature, indoor pressure.
